Web Hosting Solutions

Oh, the horror stories I could share. If
you have decided you want a web site, the most important decision you can make is choosing your web host. Reliability, uptime, and
customer service are your top priorities.
Make sure you have done your research and
make an informed decision based on your needs. Preferably look for a host that has cPanel and Fantastico.
If it is hosted on a Linux server, that's even better.

LunarPages provides a free domain name for life (but I always recommend purchasing your domain name
separately), over $700 of free software, and in May, 2007 added free Crazy Egg web stats. Simple to use cPanel and
Fantastico programs combined with the free software provided, allows me to provide features that help my web visitors get the
most from my site. This is the solution I use to host The Swan Network.
The very active forum is a tremendous help to anyone who is struggling with an issue and wants an immediate
solution. There is also a very comprehensive Knowledge Base to help you.
At $6.95 per month, this is definitely a program to check out!

Bluehost continues
to be the host for my Cottage Home and Garden sites. Bluehost has a great site builder (if
you decide not to use my favorite, xSitePro), a one-click Fantastico system to download a number of scripts like
a WordPress blog, and responsive support both by phone and email. Bluehost excels at their phone
support. Try to call on off peak hours for fast service. |
The bottom line? Upfront planning is essential.
Planning will save you both time and money. Go thru the Circle of Wisdom process. Become aware of what your goals are for this online business. Are you going to be selling physical products
or information products? Do you want a blog? Answer those questions before deciding on a webhost. Best wishes to you in
your new endeavor.
